The replacement of an in-house development and the reduction of manual work were the focus of the project at Arena Holdings. The extensive use of HUP systems, the analysis and over the years ongoing optimization of processes enabled a high degree of automation. As a result costs were also reduced significantly.

HUP project manager Alexander Schulz: “The long-standing customer relationship with Arena Holdings is a good example for the ever expanding optimization possibilities, if both sides are open for changes and can think laterally – and then implement them”.

Arena Holdings Deputy GM Circulation Richard Pluck: “Many years have passed since 2004, but there are still things to be improved and optimized. We are always happy when we can turn the odd screw with the support of HUP to do something new and bring about change. Soon there will be a software update, which we are looking forward to with great anticipation.”

The best known print media of Arena Holding are:

  • Sunday Times, Sunday newspaper with a circulation of about 100,000 copies
  • Sowetan, daily newspaper, circulation: approx. 30,000 copies
  • Business Day, business daily newspaper, circulation approx. 15,000 copies
