Board members take over HUP AG
Brunswick, 21th of november. Operationally and for HUP customers, nothing will change at HUP AG, but everything will change in terms of the shareholder structure. The founder and previous majority owner of HUP AG, Ulf Henke, who recognized the signs of the times very early with the foundation of his company Henke und Partner almost 40 years ago, that (newspaper) publishers need reliable solutions on the way to digitization, sold his shares to the HUP board.
With the closing of the takeover by a management buy-out on November 1, 2019, Heike Nussbaum, Arno Nix and Dirk Westenberger will share the shares held by Ulf Henke equally. The HUP board members were already shareholders. They stand 100 percent behind the company and, together with Ulf Henke, have initiated the generation change actively and in a spirit of partnership in recent years and have now finally implemented it.

Meanwhile about 100 employees at six locations support 400 medium-sized companies on their way into the future. The overall portfolio includes customized publishing software solutions for advertising, production, editorial, subscription and logistics, full-service, established software developments for accounting in companies under the comet brand as well as support in marketing and brand development. Innovative development strategies such as the HUP Customer Scrumbles ensure that decision-makers and experts from different companies come together and share their knowledge. The goal: to bring the software to market that is optimal for everyone involved, that saves resources and boosts new business models.
“In the coming years, in addition to our previous focal points and the further expansion of browser-based solutions, it will be necessary to open up new business segments and thus expand our customer base.
